Installation:
Save the files into the folder: ..\pinnacle\Studio 9\plugins\rtfx\vdub

The MSU-Old CInema Filter is one of the finest filters for Virtualdub. It allows the creation of various great old cinema effects. You can find more details about the filter and MSU under: http://www.compression.ru/video/old_cinema/index_en.html

Standardinstallation:

 

  • As prerequisite for this filter you need to install the Vdub2RTFX-Plugin. Details for the installation see in the chapter Vdub2RTFX-Plugin
  • Download the file “MSU_oldcinema.zip”.
  • Extract the MSU_oldcinema.vdf from the zip-archive.
  • Save MSU_oldcinema.vdf and MSU_oldcinema_v.xml in the vdub2rtfx-plugin directory i.e. “virtualdubfx”

Using the filter:

After starting Studio you will find a filter groups “virtualdubFX”. In this group you will find the filter “MSU Old cinema”.

Select this filter and the filter editing window will open.

Click the edit button and the original edit window of the MSU old cinema filter will open.

Edit the Filter by clicking on the “Edit”-button.

The edit window of the filter opens. You can now edit the filter parameters. In this case there is an advanced button which opens an additional window with more parameters.

Some virtualdub-filters provide a “Preview-button”. Pressing this button open the virtualdub-preview window where you can preview the changes. Unfortunately a preview on the Studio Screen is not possible.

By pressing the “OK-Button” the changes are saved and you return to Studio.
